When does the admission start?
For guests who have chosen one of the dinner packages (Golden or Silver Package), the admission starts at 06.00 pm. Admission for ball guests without dinner starts at 07.30 pm.
Is there a dress code at Johann Strauss Ball?
Yes. In order to ensure a unique and exclusive atmosphere for all guests, great importance is attached to elegant evening clothes. For women floor-length ball dresses are recommended, while men usually wear dark suits.
Can I choose my table?
By choosing between Golden and Silver Package, you can decide whether you are seated in the central Strauss hall (Golden) or in the Schubert respectively Lehar Hall (Silver). The exact allocation within the hall is carried out by our staff.
Which drinks are included in the price during the dinner?
During the gala dinner the following drinks are included: Sparkling wine, white wine, red wine, beer, coffee and non-alcoholic drinks. The dinner will be served between 07.00 pm and 08.30 pm.
Are you offering special menus for the dinner?
Apart from the normal menu stated on our website, we also offer vegetarian, lactose-free and gluten-free alternatives. Please indicate your preferred menu in the comment field before finishing your purchase. Is my seat reserved all night long or only for the time of the dinner?
Your seat is reserved for you the whole evening. You can get up at any time, e.g. to celebrate on the dance floor or get some fresh air on our terrace.
Do I have to attend the waltz workshop / the midnight quadrille?
No. Of course, active participation is not obligatory. The waltz workshop will take place in the Lanner Hall on the 2nd floor independent from the ball happenings on the ground floor. Likewise, you can also just enjoy the midnight quadrille as observer without having to participate actively.
Are my tickets immediately confirmed after making a reservation?
Yes. After the booking, you will receive a written confirmation to the e-mail address indicated during the order process. You can find your voucher in the e-mail attachment – we suggest you print it out and show it at the entrance in Kursalon, where your voucher will be exchanged for tickets.
How can I pay for my ticket?
The payment can either be made via Paypal or via one of the following credit card providers: VISA, MasterCard, Diners Club, American Express.
Is my payment data safe?
Yes. Your payment information is encrypted during the order process according to the latest standards.
Can I cancel my reservation?
Free cancellations are possible until 31.12.2020. After that and up to 31.01.2021 a cancellation fee of 70% of the ticket price applies. From 01.02.2021 we cannot accept any more cancellations.
How to get to Kursalon by public transport?
With the underground line U4 to station "Stadtpark", exit "Johannesgasse". After that there are only a few meters walk to the building. Alternatively, with the underground line U3 to station "Stubentor" (about 7 minutes walk).
Furthermore the tram lines 2 (station: "Weihburggasse") with a walk of about 5 minutes or D or 71 (station "Schwarzenberg Platz") can be taken to get to the event.
On weekends underground lines in Vienna also operate by night. This makes it possible to go back by subway even after the end of the ball. Alternative options are night buses, which also operate all night.
Where do I get a cab after the ball?
Directly opposite the Kursalon building is a taxi stand. Of course our staff at the event is also happy to help you in case of any questions.
